We’ve been discussing spiritual practices and relationships recently here on the blog. Accordingly, I shared with YourTango about the power of sensual meditation, which creates mindfulness, soulfulness and oneness.

“How to do a Sensual Meditation” 

It might seem that spiritual meditation would be at odds with sensual intimacy. However,meditation can be used as a solo tool to improve intimate experiences with your partner.

When we’re stress-free our senses are more alive. The difference between having just a romp and making love is that when making love all senses are fully engaged, as is a person’s heart, soul and spirit. Physical connections are fine but add an emotional, mental or spiritual connection to take your intimate relations to ecstasy.

Meditation allows you to become attuned, vibrate on a higher level and allow yourself to enjoy the moment. The greatest gift we can give another person is to be fully present with them, not lamenting the past or worrying about the future.

A Scientific American study reveals that our brains read sensual bliss and meditation the same. Imagine combining the practices.
Sit in lotus position and close your eyes. Breathe in and out through your nose. Concentrate on your root chakra, the base of the spine and the genital area. Focus energy flow around this area as you breathe. Inhale, imagining the energy flowing up and in and exhale seeing the energy flowing down and out. Visualize your most beautiful and vivacious self.
