vagina warriors….

Current mood: awake

so…

on monday i went to the culture project’s reading of eve ensler’s (of the vagina monologues) new anthology “a memory, a monologue, a rant and a prayer.” it was so moving and incredible. all purchases of this book go to stopping violence against women and girls and supporting v-day. (www.vday.org) the night was very moving as powerful women and extraordinary men read, acted and presented their pieces. if you’re in nyc, stop by next month (culture project on july 6) when i’ll be participating. that’s right, the anthology not only features writings by luminaries like eve ensler, maya angelou, edward albee, alice walker, anna deavere smith, suheur hammad and edwidge danticat, but it also features me—yay!

are there issues that you have spoken about (or bitched about) privately? have you done anything to affect change in these areas? we have to earn the right to complain, i feel.

hw: today, google going green, peace power or some other movement that may be on your mind and see what you can do to help. after that, you can continue being your fabulous self because you have taken steps to leave the world a little more yummy than you found it.

xoxo,

a.
