Let’s discuss ideas of what to get men for Valentine’s Day gifts. Most men aren’t in to VDay. For many of them it’s just another silly commercial holiday. Keep reading… -aa [dropcap]A[/dropcap]fter Christmas and New Years pass, the next holiday everyone starts talking about is, of course, Valentine’s Day. While we romantics look forward to it – getting to spend the whole day indulging in sweet treats and hanging with our loved one – others aren’t too fond of it.

Some simply get pre-Valentine’s Day anxiety because they aren’t sure what to get their sweetheart. You’ve probably overheard men talking about how the holiday isn’t exactly their cup of tea. Still,  you can’t help but want to make your boyfriend or husband feel special on that day of love.

So what do you get him that he won’t think is corny, even if he isn’t exactly into the idea of the holiday?

Here are a few ideas he’ll appreciate on V-day, or any day, for that matter.

He Wants Something Thoughtful.

Valentine's day and your manThink practically, but personally. One of the best V-Day gift ideas for your guy is music! Make him a playlist of songs you know he loves, and that will also remind him of you. Put it on a CD or upload it to his iPod – just make sure it’s nice and lengthy and that every song on there has meaning.

Surprise him with it along with a good craft beer, a personalized Valentine’s Day card, or his favorite meal and it’s the perfect way to be romantic without going over-the-top, which he would hate.

He Wants Something Intangible.

Your Valentine's Day ManYou don’t always have to give a physical gift – instead, you could just do something nice for him. Wash his beloved car or give him a shoulder massage when he gets home from work, then offer to sit down and watch his favorite show with him. Sometimes when you get comfortable in a relationship, you forget to do little thoughtful things, but it’s those things that mean the most.

He Wants Something Memorable.

Some guys, for whatever reason, don’t like to actually receive something. Rather, they’d like to make memories. That’s why you should find a good event to attend together on (or around) Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart!

  • See if his favorite band will be in town that week, or take him to a sporting event you know he loves.

He’ll get to have everything he loves all on one place – and since you’ll both get to have a great time, it’s like a gift for both of you. While women can be simple – jewelry, Valentine’s Day bears, or a sweet card usually do the trick – men aren’t always big on the traditional. With a little thinking outside the box, though, you could make his least cared-for holiday into one of his favorites.
