The law of assumption is constantly working to manifest things in your life, whether you are aware of it or not. Have you ever noticed that when you have an assumption about something, it ends up coming true? That was no accident. You believed something so intensely, that it hardened into fact thanks to the law of assumption.

There are a variety of techniques can help you get into the state you need to be in in order to manifest using the law of assumption. Here are our top 5.

1. Affirmations

This is by far the best and easiest technique to learn when you are benefiting from the law of assumption. You already have assumptions that are hardened into fact, so it’s not a matter of learning how to have assumptions. We are all very good at that. But what we are not good at is assuming what we truly want is already in our reality. That is what affirmations can help you with.

Even if you don’t yet believe your affirmations and can’t even see how they would be possible, you just need to repeat them. Choose affirmations that really speak to you, that are written in a way that you would talk to a friend or a loved one. Choose a few affirmations for each thing you are manifesting, and loop them as often as you can.

One day, you will realize you don’t need them anymore, because you “feel it real”. You feel as if it is already yours and you are living in this reality, living in your wish fulfilled. At that point, you know the affirmations have imprinted on your subconscious mind.

2. State Akin to Sleep/Looping Visualizations

One of Neville Goddard’s favorite techniques for the law of assumption is State Akin to Sleep, allow known as SATS. It is believed that during the 10-15 minutes shortly before you fall asleep, you are not just in a drowsy state, but an almost hypnotic state. It is a bit dream-like, where you are aware that you are still awake, but beginning to enter more of a dream-like state. It is here when it is easiest to reprogram your subconscious mind.

Since the challenging part of the law of assumption is that it is hard for your conscious mind to live in the end, or assume what you want already exists, you can take advantage of SATS to convince your subconscious mind with visualizations and affirmations.

What Neville Goddard recommended is choosing a scene for your visualizations that you loop over and over again whenever you are experiencing SATS. If you can do this every night before bed when you feel drowsy, that’s perfect. But you can also do visualization whenever you are rested and at peace, such as before taking a nap, or when doing an activity that is mindless and your conscious brain won’t get in the way.

3. I Remember When

This is another really simple technique that many people who follow Neville’s teachings will use. ‘I remember when’ is simply a way to reframe your thoughts and inner conversations. If you struggle with seeing yourself or your life a different way, and have a hard time looking past the 3D realty, then you can use this technique.

How it works is whenever you see something in your current reality you don’t like or that doesn’t align with your assumptions, instead of focusing on what you are seeing as the current reality, you tell yourself you remember when that was the reality for you. Creating the assumption that it is no longer in your reality.

For example, if you are trying to lose weight, you might see your body in the mirror and have trouble living in your wish fulfilled, since you can clearly see your body is not yet where you want it to be. Instead of thinking or saying something negative about your body, just say “I remember when my body was this size” then follow it up with an affirmation about how you have a lean, fit body, or whatever your personal aesthetic goal is.

4. Eavesdropping

The eavesdropping technique is often used in visualizations or when you are affirming your assumptions, but are getting a little bored of just repeating the affirmations to yourself. It is a great way to combine affirmations and visualizations into one technique.

With the eavesdropping technique, you are listening in or watching someone else you know talking about what you manifested. Maybe you are manifesting your dream home, and you hear your mom and sister having a conversation about how you just bought your dream home, it is perfect for you, you are so excited, and they are so proud of you.

Eavesdropping works best with people you know well, because you know their voice and how they would talk about you. This works great when you struggle with visualization of yourself, with something you can’t quite see yet. Just imagine someone else talking about how you achieved t.

5. Using Placebos

The last technique you can try for the law of assumption is by using placebos. This is another way to affirm something and hold onto those assumptions you have. It is particularly useful when trying to achieve a change in your appearance or something tangible.

You can create a placebo out of anything and everything. All you have to do is affirm that it is true. This is similar to doctors and scientists who used to give people sugar pills and tell them it’s a cure for their ailments. They assumed it was a real medication, and therefore they started feeling better. This is actually a way to see how the law of assumption works.

And you can do the same thing with your own assumptions, by creating placebos. If you have been using affirmations to lose weight, but feel like you need a little help, you can create a placebo. For example, create an assumption that every time you eat, you lose weight. Say this over and over again in order to imprint that assumption on your subconscious. “Every time I eat, I lose weight. Every time I eat, I lose weight. Every time I eat, I lose weight”. This is another way to word affirmations where you are creating placebos, so that you create an assumption that makes it easier for you to lose weight.
