Sooooo, my birthday is in a few days…

And instead of the party I was planning, I will be supporting my family… to bury my cousin.

I notice even in this post I went as long as I could without mentioning this new truth.

A few days ago, my cousin jumped from a high rise building in Far Rockaway, New York, on the day the voices won.

On a day when he could no longer take the mental, emotional and spiritual pain, my cousin took his own life.

It took me several days to type that.

I wanted to send you this post to remind you, if no one else has, that YOU MATTER in this world.

Your life matters.

We need you in this world.

Some days are extremely difficult – but we need you.

It has been a really challenging time globally over the last year and a half.

An associate shared that she has gone months without anyone checking up on her. Months.

It is natural to be sad when sad things happen.

But you deserve to get help and support.

Sometimes our brains lie to us.

Mental health is health. And if something happened to a body part you would most likely get help.
