Rage is a feeling of intense, violent, or growing anger. It is associated with the fight-or-flight response and often activated in response to an external cue, such as the murder of a loved one or some other kind of serious offense. The phrase, ‘thrown into a fit of rage,’ expresses the immediate nature of rage that occurs before deliberation. If left unchecked, rage may lead to violence. Depression and anxiety lead to an increased susceptibility to rage, and there are modern treatments for this emotional pattern.

fMRI scans of people who practice compassion meditation show that they have changed their brains in ways that make them more compassionate and less prone to negative emotions such as rage. MBSR programs have also been scientifically demonstrated to produce more frequent and strong feelings of love and happiness and less feelings of rage, anger, stress, and depression. See Mindfulness (psychology) for more on this topic. – Via Wikipedia

Hey Sacred Bombshell,

Let’s talk about RAGE. Women’s anger. The anger you keep in your body temple.

I used to be so uncomfortable with my own anger. I felt like something was wrong if I felt upset. In my 20s, when I first started to really study spirituality I thought that being angry was not spiritual. This didn’t make me less #angry. It just made me turn my unexpressed anger, my rage, on myself and then beat myself up for doing so.

Many of us are just straight up pissed off without reaching for healing. We tend to turn our anger into inner violence or unproductive self-hatred, body hatred or self-doubt. Our anger expressed in a healthy way is cleansing.

We have a right to ALL of our emotions. It is natural to get angry. It is not healthy to STAY angry. You are much more powerful standing in your joy– and your anger just wants to express itself, to be heard, to be felt.

Consider who you might be abusing with your suppressed and repressed anger. So if you’re angry, work it out, speak it out, break it out.

It takes much healing for a bombed out shell to become a #sacredbombshell.
