Live Each Day as If It Were Your Last

This is not permission to be irresponsible, but instead, to help you acknowledge and accept that you are mortal. Therefore, it’s important to live each day as if it was your last because each day really matters. You can’t throw out your principles, morals, and values or goals and objectives and succeed, but you can live each day intentionally. Here are some ways to live each day as if it were your last.

Do What You Believe In

To do this, you have to know what you believe in. Take the time to study yourself, the world, and understand the facts and figures that make up what you know. When you can make choices in life based on your principles, morals, and values, you will make good choices every single day.

Give It Your All

If something is important to you, don’t half-ass it. Instead, give each thing you believe is important everything you have. If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right. That includes your work and free time activities, but more importantly, your relationships with your friends, family, and community.

Express Your Love

When you care about people, don’t keep it to yourself. Even if they don’t return the feelings, share yours anyway. Express your love and gratitude to those who have improved your life even in the smallest of ways. Life is short. Don’t put this off and then live with regrets for not doing it sooner.

Prioritize The Important Things

Create your daily schedule based on what’s most important for your long-term happiness. Some of the top priorities on your list should be things that push you closer to achieving your goals. Taking care of yourself should also be a top priority. When you start each day with the intention of making positive steps towards living your best life, you will be able to live life to the fullest.

Schedule Time for Everything

Don’t just schedule your workday. Schedule your downtime and your growth too. The important things in life need a time and place to happen. Ensure your schedule is realistic so nothing is pushed to the back burner. The more you can fill your moments with what truly matters, the happier you will be.

Find Joy in Each Day

Joy is not as hard to come by as some people think. The first cup of coffee, the first light of the day, the sunset, cuddling with babies, reading a bedtime story and so much more are joyful. If you open your eyes to it, you’ll find many joyous things every single day. Enjoy them, document them, reflect on them and use them as inspiration.

Life is full of happiness, sadness, surprises, and change. Experience each with everything you have. Statistically, you’re likely to live a full healthy life, but living in the moment, doing the things that make you happy – and doing them in a responsible way – ensures that you have fewer regrets if the end comes sooner than expected.
