Dating Chronicles

What’s going on in the dating world these days? I’m a single woman in New York City and I’m rejoicing in all that that entails: the exhilarations and the heartaches, the freedom and the occasional loneliness. Luckily, I’m finding no shortage of dates through friend fix-ups, the dot coms and the random meeting on the subway but what I seem to be lacking and in serious need of is experiences with good old-fashioned, hot-blooded, full-on masculine alpha males.
Soldiers where you at?

First, a little history. I love men, love ’em. My friends and I have been known to be a little man crazy from time to time but recently, we’ve been talking and many of us are having the same experience. We are growing increasingly frustrated with the seeming feminization of the American male. What’s happening here? Is it a backlash to this insane notion of gender neutrality and the obliteration of traditional gender roles? I’m not suggesting we need to return to a pre-feminist period of barefoot, pregnant and hopelessly dependent on the men in our lives but this has gotten out of hand.

Guys are reluctant to ask women out on proper dates, they’re afraid to meet a new woman unless it’s in a group setting and they expect us to be the pursuers. What’s the deal fellas? I know the game has changed a bit and the feminist movement called a lot of things into question but we’ve had decades to make the adjustments. Women are still women and men are still supposed to be men. Enough of this shit already.
